Dogs are hilarious animals that have been entertaining their humans for centuries. Like us, dogs can develop certain behaviours that attest to their mood, physical condition or simple OCD quirkiness.

Tail chasing has been a curiosity that amuses both us the random onlookers and dogs themselves. Tail chasing entails endless spinning in circles as the dog tries to catch its tail, usually in vain.

Dogs usually chase their tails out of pure boredom, to entertain themselves and fellow humans too busy with something else to pay attention to their pooches. Which brings us to another reason for tail chasing: attention seeking.

Dogs can’t live without the attention of their owners and will do anything to get it, even something as petty as chase their tail. Most people will watch and laugh as the dog spins around and gives it its best to accomplish such an unattainable goal as catching its tail.

On the other hand, tail chasing might not be all fun and games. It could signal that something is wrong, for instance, that the dog has worms or fleas so it would be wise to take it to the vet.
