If you are looking for a fluffy, medium-sized pup who is cheerful, active, affectionate and quite intelligent, look no further, for English Springer Spaniel might just be the breed for you.

Origin

These balls of fur descended from the Norfolk or Shropshire Spaniels of the mid-19th century.

Since then the breed has diverged into separate show and working lines.

They are a typical type of bird dogs in the Spaniel family and are traditionally used for flushing and retrieving game, which basically means you’ll be forced to playing fetch quite a lot with these cuties.

Description

English Springer Spaniels have strong and compact bodies. Their chest area is deep, but not too wide or round to interfere with the action of the front legs. The brisket is sufficiently developed and reaches to the elbows, and their backs are straight and strong, while the loin is slightly arched.

They will definitely win you over with their extremely cute drooping long ears, which are quite soft and delicate, and with their cheerful and fluffy wiggly tails giving away their most sincere and genuine enthusiasm.

As far as the color is concerned, they come in liver and white, black and white, orange and white, and predominately white with black or liver markings. They have an average lifespan of 10.5 to 15 years.
