Our canine friends adore peanut butter, but you don’t really want to serve this treat to your pooch directly from the bowl.

These easy to make cookies are an excellent treat for your dog, and are also a great way to sneak some fish oil into your dog’s diet if needed.

Let’s get crackin!

Ingredients

  • 2 cups of flour (white or wheat, but make sure your pooch has no wheat allergies)
  • 1 cup of rolled oats
  • 1/3 cup of smooth organic peanut butter
  • 1 tablespoon of honey
  • 1/2 tablespoon of fish oil
  • 1 1/2 cups of water

Step By Step Preparation

Preheat your oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit (170 degrees C). Mix the flour and oats together in a large mixing bowl, then add one cup of water and blend until you get a smooth, homogenous mixture.

Add the peanut butter, honey, and fish oil, then mix some more until all the ingredients are well blended. Gradually add the rest of the water and continue to mix until it becomes thick and doughy.

Flour your cooking surface and roll the dough onto it to create a 1/4 inch thick sheet. Use your cookie cutter to create shapes (bone-shaped one would be awesome if you have one), then place the cookies onto a baking sheet and bake for 40 minutes.

Wait until the cookies are completely cool before feeding them to your dog.
