Although this fall isn’t as cold and rainy as it can be, the days of winter and snow are surely coming. That being said, it would be a good idea to prepare your four-legged pet for a whole different kind of walk.
Doggy See, Doggy Do
By this we mean taking the same steps you would take when preparing yourself to go out in the snow.
First off, we have layers. As you would put on a warm coat before hitting the snow trail, so should your canine be properly dressed for going out in such a harsh environment.
Just because it has fur doesn’t mean it’s invulnerable to the cold!
Your next step should be clearing the way. Make things easier for both yourself and your pooch by shoveling the snow out of the way and melting the ice. Dogs have four legs, which means twice the chance of slipping and having an outdoor accident.

Finally, there’s paw protection. Again, canines aren’t immune to damage cause by the extremely cold environment, so make sure your dog has proper dog boots or paw wax on – better safe than sorry.
